چکیده
Mycobacterium tuberculosis is one of the most common causes morbidity and mortality among adults who have tested HIV-positive or those living in poverty. One major reasons for need extended chemotherapeutic regimens widespread epidemicity that causative agent, M. tuberculosis, has ability to be a dormant state. Therefore, there an urgent new lead compounds are effective against both its active states. In this study, we investigated anti-mycobacterial activity total ethanol extract fractions Melissa officinalis L. (Lemon balm) under actively growing dormancy inducing conditions. As result, exhibited antimicrobial states smegmatis bovis BCG with Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) values ranging from 12.5 µg/mL 50 µg/mL. Among fractions, n-hexane fraction showed ideal (MIC = 6.25 µg/mL). addition, also µg/mL), while moderate µg/mL) was observed state BCG.

This work investigates the process of extraction of lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.) by treatment with carbon dioxide at supercritical conditions. The process kinetics is studied at different operational conditions, and the influence of some important regime parameters (pressure, temperature particle size, solvent flow-rate) on the extraction yield is experimentally determined. Besides the i...

This research investigated the effects of exogenous sodium nitroprusside (SNP) supplementation as nitric oxide (NO) on alleviating Pb-induced oxidative damage in lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.) plants. Pb (100, 300 and 500 μM) alone and in combination with SNP (100 and 200 μM) were given to hydroponically grown Melissa officinalis L. plants. The findings suggested that in Pbtreated plants, ...
